A Tradition of Taste in Faversham

Monks' Granary Wine and Cheese was born from a lifelong passion for exceptional food and wine. In May 2025, after three decades dedicated to teaching, we decided to embark on a new venture dedicated to what we truly love: great wine and delicious cheese. What started as a dream quickly became reality when we opened the doors of Monks' Granary at Standard Quay in Faversham. Now, after a successful first year, we are excited to announce our move to beautiful new premises at 1-2 Market Street, Faversham, opening in May 2026.

 

This larger, more central location allows us to share our carefully curated selection with even more wine and cheese enthusiasts. At Monks' Granary, we believe in quality, character, and discovery. Our wine list features a thoughtfully chosen range of both New World and Old World wines, sourced from independent vineyards that continue to craft complex, interesting, and expressive bottles rather than chasing mass appeal. From elegant Burgundies to bold South African Pinotages and everything in between, each wine tells its own story.

 

Complementing our wines is a superb selection of cheeses representing the very best of England and the European continent. Every cheese is chosen for its depth of flavour, quality of craftsmanship, and ability to a create a memorable tasting experience . We also stock a range of carefully selected accompaniments: local chutneys and delicatessen items, Cotswold rare breed pork charcuterie, hand-smoked fish from Whitstable, and a variety of quality gifts and delicacies perfect for wine and cheese lovers.
